5 weeks old and exploring a new world.
Thoughts and pictures of my wanderings through the Allegheny Mountains hunting grouse and woodcock with my Ryman-type English Setters during the fall and winter months, fishing for smallmouth bass in local streams and rivers during the summer months and wandering over my 66 acres of heaven year round.

A Morning along Licking Creek
Tried my favorite section of Licking Creek yesterday morning. It's about a half hour walk across old hayfields but it's worth it. I can fish for hours and hear nothing but nature.
I ran into a raccoon looking for breakfast, but he didn't hang around for many pics.
18 inches of beautiful, healthy smallmouth my best fish from this stream, but why I couldn't catch any of her offspring is a mystery to me.

The fish weren't cooperating and if it wouldn't have been for this old Matriarch being fooled by my plastic crawfish it would have just been a walk along the stream.
